Plovdiv’s wonderful Old Town is full of wonderful cobbled streets that are lined with beautiful pastel-coloured traditional buildings and getting lost amongst its hilly streets is a lovely way to explore all of its hidden sights.
History is everywhere you look
While wandering around the city you’ll come across Roman ruins, Ottoman mosques and centuries-old churches while buildings dating back to communist times can also be found here and there.
The Modern side of the City
While Plovdiv is certainly home to a vast array of impressive historical sites and archaeological ruins, it also has a youthful population who give its streets a vibrant and dynamic feel to them.
