Not exactly a thriving tourist destination (yet!), the Cote d’Ivoire has a number of amazing sites which are sure to fascinate any visitor. Relaxing and peaceful, these three places are some of the best locations to visit in the West African country.
Tai National Park
Wow! The UNESCO World Heritage site is absolutely magnificent. Lush rainforest covers the hills as tropical birds fly overhead. Trekking through the undergrowth is hard work but certainly rewarding!
Grand-Bassam
A short drive outside of Abidjan is Grand-Bassam, a lovely secluded town which has a number of luxurious resorts alongside the beach. Also worth visiting are the decaying architectural gems that date back to when Cote d’Ivoire was a French colony.
Assinie Beach
Tranquil, unassuming and laid-back, Assinie is the place to be if you’re looking to relax. Watch out though for the huge waves which come rolling in from the Atlantic!
