The Hermitage – Russia
Once upon a time, this wonderful building was home to Russia’s tsars of years gone by, now however it is one of the best museums in the world. The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities – Egypt
Wow. Lying at the heart of Cairo, this incredible museum is fascinating to explore as rows upon rows of ancient statues and sarcophagi greet you. As the ancient Egyptians carved a lot of things out of stone, so much has been preserved until this day and the dry desert helped ensure that the famous mummies lasted the test of time.
The Vatican Museums – Vatican City
Everything about the Vatican Museums is breathtaking to behold. Whether it is the amazing architecture on show, the elegant galleries or the ceilings and walls which are decorated with frescoes, almost everything on show is a piece of art and that’s without even having mentioned all the magnificent paintings, statues and carvings! The Pergamon Museum – Berlin
One of the best museums in Berlin, the Pergamon has lots of interesting Islamic art and artefacts on display and two of its most impressive pieces are colossal in size. Both the Market Gate of Miletus and the Ishtar Gate of Babylon were transported from the Middle East and reconstructed within the building and you’ll be astounded at just how large they are.

The Museum of Qin Terra-Cotta Warriors – China
With rows upon rows of the silent warriors standing there before you, visiting this museum promises to be an unforgettable experience. Over 7,000 (!!) of them were made and they were buried alongside the First Emperor of China to protect him in the afterlife.
The Uffizi Gallery – Florence
One of the finest museums in the whole of Italy, the Uffizi is home to some wonderful artworks with Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Titian’s Venus of Urbino being just two of the masterpieces which you can expect to see.
